On 12 July, we headed to Goodwood Festival of Speed to meet up with some of the AUTO PHOTO community at the most famous weekend in motorsport. It was great to catch up with so many people! 

Since AUTO PHOTO launched, Goodwood Festival of Speed founder, the Duke of Richmond, has very kindly supported us, judging the first Awards with Karen Harvey and continuing to offer support year on year.

When it comes to inspirational places for automotive photography Goodwood comes high on the list, with the Festival of Speed attracting a global audience as it showcases the best in motorsport and car culture. It’s the most famous weekend in motorsport, where visitors can get right up close to the world-class action.

The theme of 2024’s Festival was ‘Horseless to Hybrid: Revolutions in Power’, which recognised advances in motorsport and automotive technology. At the heard of the event, Future Lab presented by Randox showcased  ‘Technology for a Better World’, with the interactive hub welcoming entrepreneurs and innovators from around the world.

Other highlights of the weekend included a celebration of Oracle Red Bull Racing’s 20th year in Formula One (captured below by Martin Wall), Romain Dumas winning the Shootout in the Ford Supervan 4.2 with a time of 43.98 seconds, the Central Feature’s celebration of MG’s centenary, and motorsport icons including Fernando Alonso, Michael Dunlop and Richard Petty being joined by rising stars Lia Block and Hamda al Qubaisi in taking on the The Hill.
